Miam Miam / Lola's Cafe / Gelish Pedicure

Not so long ago, I visited Miam Miam with Tracy! Miam Miam is apparently 'Yum Yum' in French, and yes, it's a French cafe! (infused with a Japanese twist)

Riz Au Curry
Ordered the Riz Au Curry and was impressed with the strong flavours and denseness of the curry. For me, I like my Japanese curry to be thick, so this item was very pleasing to my palette.

Souffle Au Curry
Tracy ordered the Souffle Au Curry, which tasted similar to my dish, except that hers was cocooned with a thick layer of airy egg-like ingredient. The base of her dish is also curry rice! I personally find her dish more interesting!

Didn't try their signature French Toast or souffles though, but I can't wait to be back to get a taste of them.

We spent an average of $18 per pax (only mains). And yup, I would recommend this cafe for the above 2 dishes.

Another cafe I recently popped by is Lola's Cafe! Located near Kovan MRT, I've heard many positive reviews about it, so I couldn't wait to try out the food. :)

For a weekday, the crowd was pretty insane. I tried to make a reservation a day prior to my visit, but I was notified that the cafe was fully booked till the end of the month. We had to queue for around 30 minutes till we got a seat outside (be prepared to queue for 1 hour + for an indoor seat).

Lola's Full Monty Breakfast $15
As usual, I ordered the cafe's signature full breakfast set. Imo, the serving size was just right. My favourite part of this dish has gotta be the honey bacon! The bacon was drizzled in a very generous amount of honey, which made it taste sweet and flavourful. Scrambled eggs were neither too dry not wet; exactly to my liking. And well, everything else on the plate was rather delightful.

Eggs & Bacon in Croissant (can't recall the actual name for this hehe) $13
Adeline said it tasted good, with the croissant being crisp and flaky. It definitely looks very yummy.

Mushroom Melt $10
If you're a fan of mushrooms, then I believe you'll love this! As you can tell, they are very generous with the mushrooms and cheese. :)

Brunch at Lola's
Companions for the day :)
If you were to order drinks and share sides, I think it'll only amount to $25 per pax. Now I can see why this cafe is so popular. Worth a visit, but pls make a reservation! :)

Found a cheap gelish mani/pedi place recently at Bugis Street Level 3. Didn't take note of the store name, but walk around and you'll definitely find it. Their gelish pedicure was only $20 and gelish manicure $16. I did both and got a discount - both for $33.

Much cheaper than other nail parlours, but they did a pretty rushed job to accomodate new customers into their store. Wouldn't say I'm perfectly pleased with the service, but I'll prolly come down again during a less peak period.

Benefits of gelish:
1) Dries much faster - perfect if you're in a rush! Took only like 10 minutes to dry.
2) Lasts longer, supposedly >1 month
3) Leaves a more shiny finish

Till the next!
