Staycation: Village Hotel Changi

Back from my staycation! It was Jem's first staycation and my second. We were pretty excited about it because we simply miss being tourists too much.

Decided to stay at a hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the city. After all, as students from a Uni situated in the heart of the city, would we want to take a 'vacation' in that area? No! It would simply remind us too much about work hahaha.

Situated at the far eastern side of Singapore, Village Hotel Changi offers a breath of fresh air away from urban life.

Making our way to the room
The room decor is pretty simple; slightly outdated and spartan for a 4 star hotel. But for me, the most important thing is the cleanliness and comfort of beds, and this room passed the mark for that. :)

Liked the bathroom because there was this huge showerhead + bathtub and a big mirror for me to do my makeup!

For dinner, we headed down to Changi Village Food Centre! It was my first time there and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of food stalls! This food centre has gotta be bigger than Chomp Chomp or Bedok 85; can't believe I never discovered this gem till ytd.

Almost every stall had a long queue so we settled for BCM from a stall with smaller queue. Despite not being one of those 'highly raved' stalls, the BCM tasted good!

Decided to satisfy my BBQ chicken wings craving too. Had to wait 30min just for this.

Continued our stroll along Changi Village after dinner. This place is really bustling with activity at night. Besides the food centre, there are many other popular coffee shops serving zi char, dim sum, hotpot buffet, malay food etc. There are also many restaurants, cafes (ice cream, crepes, coffee, desserts etc.), bakeries and convenient stores sprouted along the streets. The convenient stores sell really VFM products. $2.50 for a can of beer (for most brands) and $1+ potato chips; perfect for our supper combo!

Day 2: Woke up early to go for a morning swim at the infinity pool. With such an incredible view, it was totally worth it. :) The good thing about staying at an eastern hotel is that you get the best view of sunrise and planes that occasionally fly past.

Bare faces
Very lucky to have caught the sunrise and planes at the same time

Can't think of a better person to spend my weekend with <3

Btw, there's another pool at the first level next to the cafe.

We enjoyed a complimentary bfast buffet at Saltwater Cafe. Nothing much to rave about here, cos the food selection wasn't wide and the quality only satisfactory.

Also enjoyed a complimentary Koi feeding session, which was so much fun!

Koi food which costs $2 unless you have it complimentary under your hotel package

It's quite exciting when all the fish come swimming towards you, with mouths wide open, when you throw the food in.

Hopefully this post has given you an idea of how you want your next staycation to be like!
