Totally loving my lifestyle right now. With a 2-day work week, what more can I ask for? I'm really not a morning person (can't emphasise this enough!), so flexibility in my schedule is sooo precious. Gonna treasure this final sem of my school life to the fullest! I will really, really miss school!!!

Been keeping myself busy this week by meeting up with different groups of friends. If not for the fact that meet-ups typically mean bleaching my wallet dry, I would arrange such sessions a lot more regularly! It's just always nice catching up with your favourite people, & having that sense of familiarity and nostalgia thinking back on the days spent in school tgt :D

Anyhoos, 2 places I'd like to mention!
Visited Song Fa BKT a few days back and I was a tad disappointed! While I love the free soup refills, I thought the meat wasn't tender enough and the salted vegetables came in a pretty miserable portion. I would also have preferred if they served small chillies with my dark soya sauce, cos I like my sauce to be more spicy. All in all, this place is slightly overrated imo!

And then today, I decided to check out a new cafe located at Goodman Road. Called Melba Cafe, it's located just 7 min from Mountbatten MRT station. I like that this cafe is situated in a quiet neighbourhood and has a cosy and peaceful ambience. It's a great place to chill with a friend or enjoy some quiet time of your own. There wasn't anything spectacular about the egg's benedict, but the salad that came along with it was drenched in this light flavoured oil/sauce that made it delicious. But the price tag of $23 is rather steep imo given that I've had smoked salmon egg's benedict at more pocket-friendly prices.

Didn't try their standard breakfast set but my friend said it tasted good.

I would recommend this cafe if you're looking for a place that provides a tranquil ambience. But food-wise, there's nothing much to shout about.
